ATTENTION INTERNET NERDS, GEEKS AND BRAINS!!!

I need ur help, im getting internet set up in my house but i dont know who to sign up with. can som1 tell me what is a good speed for an adsl 2 broadband system for a person who does regular downloads and plays a fair amount of online gaming ( warcraft 3: Frozen Throne, Urban-rivals etc...). also a download limit would help too as i have no fuckin clue as to what mbps means or kbps etc. also if u can explain the differance between a cable modem and adsl, and which is better. ok peace out.

Cable (up to 30mbps) is faster than ADSL (only 10mbps, well more now) but if many people in ur neighbourhood connect simultaenously to it than ur Cable will be slower. ADSL is direct pin point service, so it will not slower if many people connect to it...

As for Cable u need to install extra cable n also u will have to pay that TV cable channels that u got or is it come for free? Not sure, depends on what they offer there... (Its good if u want cable tv channels)
ADSL uses ur phone line, so its simpler...
I dont know about the cost comparison, but both r sufficient for playing online games n downloads...

well i already got cable tv, so it might be cheaper to get a package deal, especially if it is faster and doesn't use the phone line, cauz i only got 1 phone line and if i miss calls it could cauz problems. ill go to the providers and see what they say, hopefully i can start playing elo soon

No, if ur using ADSL, u'll get a splitter...
U still can get phone call while ur internet is on, besides ur internet will be on all the time since the modem for internet n phone is the same (u cant turn off ur phone line, or else u cant receive phone calls )
